Week 35: Orientation Week 🎉
This week flew by so fast! ⏳ Most of it was about ESN (Erasmus Student Network) — basically the big student union in Europe. I also learned how to use the library 📚. Since I don’t have my TRP yet, I can’t use it as a library card, and the school libraries are scattered around the city. Luckily, Tallinn isn’t that big — hopping from one library to another only takes a dozen minutes 🚶♂️.
What amazed me most 🤯 is that students can actually choose to exchange to any other school in Europe! 🌍 On Thursday, there was a Cultural Evening. I expected food and movies 🍿, but it turned out to be mostly music and dancing 💃🕺. Ended up dancing for 2 whole hours!
Friday was my study information session. Honestly, it was the first time I saw a presentation made as a game 🎮 — super fun! My lab felt more like a playground, full of game consoles. After the lab tour came the Opening Ceremony — a festival-like market 🎶🎪 with bands and lots of music.
After that, I chilled at Pirita Beach 🍻, watching the sunset around 8:30 PM 🌅. Such a perfect vibe. Later, I opened a Bolt account 🚖 and took my very first ride!
Oh, and one more discovery — the self-checkout in Rimi Supermarket 🛒 actually has a hidden scale ⚖️. If you know the Estonian names for fruits and veggies 🥕🍎, you can weigh them yourself. Pretty neat!
