Amazing Porn Techs: VR, IoT, and More

I recently explored some adult websites, and honestly… the web tech behind them is kind of amazing 🤯.

🕶️ Web VR

Most WebVR sites are more like games, and UI usually isn’t the main focus. But in adult VR experiences, UI is everything for human interaction. Some apps on Meta Quest really nailed complex UIs:

• YouTube – shows three panels together, with the center being the main screen. You can move the screens around and switch between spatial app and 2D app.
• Netflix – used to offer a gamified environment, like being in a bedroom with a virtual TV. The UI was basically a 2D interface in a 3D world.
• Theater Elsewhere – displays 2D panels next to your controller for easy interaction.

The first WebVR site I found with a fully spatial GUI is BFTV. It’s mostly porn broadcasting. Honestly, not all actors are super attractive 😅, but the tech is cool:

• VR mode: 180° videos show in a sphere (like YouTube VR)
• Panels: comments and descriptions are draggable
• Controller interaction: click the screen and a circular menu pops up to send tips

One thing missing? No 3DGS or dual-eye porn yet. I really want to see how that would work in practice 👀.

🔌 IoT in Porn

There’s a company called Lovense that makes remote sex toys. Many porn actors use these for live broadcasting. The devices even come with SDKs for app integration.

If they weren’t so pricey, I’d totally get one and tinker with some projects 😅.

You can see these in action on Chaturbate. The vibrators react to tips from viewers. Sometimes I wonder… are the vibrations real, or just for show? 🤔
