๐ณ Baltic Kitchen Chaos
This is a game I built at Tallinn University ๐ for the course Design and Integration of Game Assets.
It was a group project: I handled the programming ๐จโ๐ป, while two awesome teammates worked on narrative, sound, and design.
๐ฎ Where & How to Play
We made two versions:
- ๐ฑ๏ธ Mouse version โ the official final submission
- โ Hand tracking version โ more experimental and fun
๐ In the hand-tracking build, you can swipe top-right with your mouse to trigger the hand-tracking mode.

๐ฅ How I Cooked Up the Gameplay
The gameplay is pretty simple:
- ๐ฒ I used Scriptable Objects to store dish info
- ๐ฅฆ Ingredients spawn randomly during the game
- โ๏ธ The balance of โidealโ vs. โnot-so-idealโ ingredients is managed by another config Scriptable Object
โ How I Experimented with Hand Tracking
For the hand-tracking version:
- ๐ ๏ธ I used Googleโs MediaPipe โ small, fast, and Unity-friendly (but sadly not directly on web).
- ๐ To make it work, I used the web version of MediaPipe and sent the data to Unity through a JS plugin.
Hereโs the tricky part:
- โก In development mode, JS plugins donโt work โ so I had to set up a WebSocket server as a bridge.
- ๐ฅ๏ธ That caused noticeable delay during dev, making fine-tuning harder.
But in the final build, the JS plugin works directly ๐. On many high-end devices with good lighting ๐ก, the tracking feels smooth, though performance still depends on the setup.
We kept the mouse version as the official submission โ , but Iโm keeping the hand-tracking one alive too โ maybe one day Iโll polish it even more โจ.
