Week 40: TLU Japanese Cafe

Last week I finally joined TLU’s Japanese Cafe! 🍵✨
I had wanted to attend since last year, but back then my schedule clashed with the event. This time, no conflicts — so I went straight in!

🃏 How it Works

We were divided into small groups. On each table there were cards with questions written in both Japanese and English — great little icebreakers! ⏱️ When the timer rang, we switched groups and topics.

Some sample topics:

  • What part-time job would you take? 💼
  • What car do you wish to have? 🚗

One Japanese student even shared that she works as a maid in a café — everyone found it super interesting!

🍱 Japanese Evening

Another highlight was the Japanese Evening. People shared food, stories, and even taught us some dances. 💃🕺 The most surprising part? Some students wore their traditional clothes — really added to the vibe! 👘

🇨🇳 vs 🇯🇵 Events

I’ve also attended Chinese events organized by both the Mainland and Taiwan governments. Honestly, those were a bit too serious 🤓 compared to the Japanese ones. The Japanese side feels much more relaxed, fun, and effective in cultural exchange. Truly, they’re advanced in culture exporting. 🌏✨
